“ As we drove up and down Dullstroom's peaceful roads, we discovered Fatima's Kitchen. It was quiet and unassuming, a shop cum restaurant, but we were welcomed by the aged owner who spoke fluent Afrikaans. He sat at our table and shared stories of the Apartheid era, when Indians and Coloureds were not supposed to be in town, although his father and grandfather were part of Dullstroom's history. His young grand daughter brought our cutlery and crockery and she set the small wooden table. We ordered butter chicken and rice. The flavors and spices perfected the dish. So happy we found this little gem hidden in a side road. ”
“ Had lunch at Fatima's today .. we really enjoyed the meal along with the warm and friendly company of the owner. We enjoyed listening to his stories about the 100 year old store and wish we had more time to enjoy the chat :) Would highly recommend the trout and chips.. thank you for the superb lunch and looking forward to being back!! It was an honor to visit the landmark in Dullstroom ”
“ Was great to visit this landmark venue! I bought some flies, the last pair of wellington boots, Joe's special (Masala Trout) and then some Samoosas which were fantastic! Got some fishing advice and talked about life. Will always return! ”
“ A must visit if you’re in Dullstroom for delicious home cooked Indian food. The owners are friendly and welcoming. I’ve been to the town twice so visited here twice. The curries are a bit on the spicy side but so good. We ordered samoosas, spring rolls, curry and the famous trout. We also left with chicken kebab and roti for road food/later. It tastes just as good the next day if you want to stock up! ”
“ During our trip, like many others, we stopped in Dullstroom for lunch and we’re so glad we did! Fatima prepares the most delicious trout, incredibly fresh and infused with delightful Indian flavors. She and her husband welcomed us warmly, making us feel right at home. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place for a fantastic meal! ”
“ Well made food. Can recommend the Joe's special which is local trout Indian style made in a fish masala!. Portion sizes were good with fast service. Wish the fire place was lit up considering the weather. ”
